In 2014 the industry was a $21 billion business in the U.S. And still, in the rare instance that the nightly news even mentions video games, it’s likely to be an ill-informed. About 59% of Americans play video games, according to estimates from the ESA (the gaming industry’s major trade and lobbying group).
